Slow Cooked Red Cabbage
Our Albert’s Victorian Chutney adds an extra fruity dimension to this slow cooked red cabbage, try it for a simple but warming side dish. |
Ingredients
500g red cabbage
50g butter
1 jar Baxters Albert’s Victorian
25g sugar
125ml red wine
Zest of 1 orange
1 cinnamon stick
1 red chilli
Preparation
Quarter, cut out the heart then finely shred the cabbage. Put the cabbage in a buttered casserole dish and season.
Add the chopped chilli, Baxters Albert’s Victorian Chutney, orange zest, cinnamon and sugar and mix well. Pour over the wine and cover with greaseproof paper and a tight-fitting lid.
Cook in a preheated oven at around 170°C for 1 ½ hours.
