The team, comprising Baxters' employees Gary McKay, Craig Smith, Jamie Stewart and David Wishart along with their friend, Graham McLean, had a combined time of 2:34:20. An incredible 20 minutes ahead of their nearest competitors, The Jam-tastics had a clear distance to safely secure a very impressive first place and give Baxters its first win in the event in 12 years!

Other members of the Baxters team who took part in this year’s event included Katherine Cook (5K); Colin Milne, Harriet Shaw and Mindaugas Strizegauskas, all of whom took part in the 10K; and Stewart Cowie and Darren Sivewright who ran the full marathon.

Throughout the weekend, visitors to the Baxters Kitchen in the event village at Bught Park in Inverness had the opportunity to sample and purchase Baxters jams, chutneys, relishes and pickles with all runners offered a nutritious and delicious post-run cup of Pea, Broccoli & Pesto or Root Vegetable & Turmeric soup from the company’s Super Good range.

This year’s Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running, which has been sponsored by Baxters since its inception in 2002, has been the most successful yet, with a record-breaking number of runners, almost 10,000, taking part in all events and a course record time of 2:19:26 achieved by Moray Pryde from Lothian Running Club in the marathon!
