Great Taste is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. Every year a panel of over 500 experts, including chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers, review a whole host of food and drink products, awarding only the very best with a highly respected Great Taste 1-, 2- or 3-star accolade.
Baxters prize-winning products selected by the judges for awards in 2024 are as follows:
- Baxters Luxury Beef Consommé (double star award!)
- Baxters Luxury Cream of Asparagus
- Baxters Super Good Mexican Chicken & Lime
- Baxters Vegetarian Spicy Parsnip
- Baxters Kimchi
- Baxters Sliced Beetroot
Combined with six awards in 2023 and four in 2022, the company has now amassed awards for 16 of its products. And for the second year in a row, a double star was awarded, with Baxters Luxury Beef Consommé joining Baxters Crunchy & Sweet Sliced Gherkins in the prestigious two-star category. Less than 10% of entries will achieve this rating, described by the Great Taste Awards as ‘outstanding – above and beyond delicious’.
Feedback from the judges’ included:
Baxters Luxury Beef Consommé - “This is absolutely stunning. There is immense beef flavour, rich and intense. Beautifully clear - the clarification is excellent. And the sherry is so well balanced and highlights the consommé on the finish - lingering well. One of the best consommés we have ever tasted.”
Baxters Luxury Cream of Asparagus “Thick unctuous looking soup with the rich distinct aroma of asparagus. The chunks of asparagus are a welcome addition to this very well-made soup, which sings of tasty asparagus that is enhanced with the well-judged use of cream – very tasty and warming.”
Baxters Super Good Mexican Chicken & Lime “Chunky, homemade-looking soup. This has a lovely rich colour and has plenty of vegetable texture and chicken flavour. This is a useful and tasty soup which would be a great winter lunch.”
Baxters Vegetarian Spicy Parsnip – “Glossy and golden, this is just the right colour for a parsnip soup. Rich and creamy, this is a treat of a soup we would be happy to pass off as home-made (and I think we would get away with it).”
Baxters Kimchi – “Vibrant looking kimchi with a bold, fresh and enticing aroma. Packed with flavour, lots of garlic and chilli working very well together. The cabbage and onion have kept their texture and crunch. Very harmonious and balanced. Well made, jolly good.”
Baxters Sliced Beetroot – “The colour is fabulous. This jewel bright beetroot has a gentle bite and an authentic earthy beetroot flavour.”
